Laxey Commissioners and Traders, in
association with The Moddey Dhoo Motorcycle Club, are organising a
Motorcycle Show to celebrate the Centenary TT. The Centenary TT
Motorcycle Show will take place on the Laxey Promenade between 2 and 8pm
on Thursday 7th of June. The show is being organised to highlight the
range of motorcycling at the 100th anniversary of the most famous road
race in the world.
The event is free and is open to the general public to enjoy
motorcycling at its best. Andy Scullard of the Moddey Dhoo Club
commented:
“We wanted to create an event where bikers can come and enjoy
motorcycling at its best, enter their pride and joy or just park it up
for others to admire”.
Local clubs and associations that represent racing, trials, marshalling
and social biking will be there to give the visiting public a view of
motorcycling on the Island. There will also be a custom show,
highlighting how much work goes into some machines. There will be 27
classes in total including Custom, Classic, Vintage and Superbike.
Visitors to the show will discover the diverse range of motorcycling on
the Isle of Man. They will be able to talk to many of the key people who
organise local road and off road events. This will include Motorsport
Medical Services, Marshalling, Fund Raising for the Joey Dunlop
Foundation. Visitors will also meet the many Social Bike Clubs who meet
and ride on the Isle of Man. including the Race School run by Andreas
Racing at Jurby, the entry regulations and requirements for the Southern
100 – now to become an international event, and information about Trials
and Off Road biking on the Island.
The Isle of Man Motorsport Medical Services will be there to explain the
service they provide to all types of events from Race to Rally and Stock
Cars. People interested in marshalling for the TT, Manx Grand Prix,
Jurby Airfield/Road Races or the Southern 100 will be able to make
contact with organisers or just pickup information on training.
The invitation is extended to all the motorcycle owners clubs who attend
the TT. Fans will be able to see vintage, classic and modern bikes from
all over the world in a free display alongside local Manx clubs.
