Pre TT Classic - Friday
Evening Practice
Conditions for the start of the Pre TT Classic Practice were dry but
overcast, as the evening went on it tried rain but didn't come to
anything.
The session was opened by the now traditional newcomer sighting laps
then followed by a full programme of practice session. The final
class of the night, the sidecars, was red flagged as the crews were
starting their second lap. One of the outfits had spilt oil from
Castletown Corner and along the start / finish straight. bringing
the nights session to a close. The road was opened apart from the
start / finish straight which required cleaning.
The solo practice was dominated by Jamie Coward and Alan Oversby who
set the fastest laps in 6 of the seven classes, three a piece, with
Jeff Ward topping the 250cc class.
There is a change to the programme this year with only one race
being held on Saturday afternoon, the sidecars. Monday will see four
solo races in the morning and three plus the sidecars in the
afternoon.
