The Susan Jenness
Trophy
The Susan Jenness Trophy is awarded by the TT
Supporters Club to the most meritorious lady performance at the previous
years TT. Unfortunately due to the Covid pandemic the presentation to the
2019 winner has been held over until this year.
The recipient and second time winner is Maria Costello who said her Mum
would be thrilled that she had won it.
At TT 2019 Maria competed in the Lightweight race and as a newcomer in both
Sidecar races. She finished 25th in the Lightweight race with a race average
of 109.377mph on a Paton.
In the sidecar races she and her Isle of Man passenger Julie Canipa finished
21st in race A with an average of 101.841mph and 17th in race B with an
average of 102.671mph. Averaging over 100mph is no mean feat for a Sidecar
Newcomer.
They were three very impressive performances by Maria who thoroughly
deserved the trophy.
The trophy is donated by Mick Jenness in memory of his late wife who was
killed marshalling at an off-road event in the UK.
